International Marketing Strategies for Real Estate Projects

More and more companies are looking to international markets when comes to funding options for real estate projects, for international investors, US property looks very attractive especially when USD remains very weak; here are some strategies that we have gathered that are useful strategies.

• Attending International Property Investment Conventions

The popular ones are those held in the Middle East markets, especially Dubai and Abu Dhabi, even Qatar. There are also specific property investment exhibitions in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Japan, and Singapore. In Europe, you should also consider such functions in Germany, UK and France.

We also know some property companies have attended investment seminars in Russia, if you look at the amount of properties sold to Russian investors in Florida this year, I would definitely say that is a good marketing strategy to consider.

• Establish contacts with global real estate agencies

There are several strategies to do this; first, you can negotiate with global real estate agencies, some of the well known ones like CB Richard Ellis, Colliers, DTZ and other international agents.

However, for small-medium sized projects, your deals maybe too small for them to consider.

The second strategy is to form strategic alliances with other agencies, for instance, a lot of US agents have representative agents in Europe (usually starting from UK), and also Asia Pacific, these agents then promote projects to their client base in these markets.

• Migration Agents

Migration agents network is another network you can tap into promoting your real estate projects. We know a number of developers have successfully raised capital via migration agents, mainly in Asia.

• Immigration Guides

Many States have what they call us Immigration Guides, or some kind of promotional materials that are available from embassies or consulates or chamber of commerce departments. We have found many interesting advertisements and advertorials on these guides while in Asia, this can be a niche opportunity for you to reach potential international investors and from our knowledge, the advertising cost is just a fraction of newspaper advertisement.

There are many other ways to reach out international investors, the very first thing you should do is to decide what markets and what types of investors you wish to target. If you are looking for institutional investors, then direct approach can be the most effective way.
